HUMAN SITES sohn+isaksen is an on-going artistic co-operation between visual artists Bodil Sohn and Else Ploug Isaksen. When they work together they exclusively work with photography in various set-up’s with a focus on the relationship between people and the surroundings – challenging the two-dimensional photo by adding a third dimension. Photography as a medium contains a high degree of objectivity and provides an opportunity of downplaying the individual in order to create common artistic expressions.

HUMAN SITES sohn+isaksen er et fotografisk samarbejde mellem billedkunsterne Else Ploug Isaksen og Bodil Sohn. Siden 2003 har de to billedkunstnere arbejdet med en kunstpraksis, hvor det todimensionale fotografi udfordres i fælles produktioner. Fotografier udsættes for greb og manipulationer, der tilfører dem en 3-dimensionalitet – eller de sammenstilles og iscenesættes med fysiske genstande. Herved udfordres oplevelsen af den troværdige ’virkelighed’, som fotografiet umiddelbart er repræsentant for, og forskydes i nye retninger, så flertydige fortolkninger kan sættes i spil.
